The final scientific assessment

The final scientific assessment is carried out by your academic mentors. The final vote takes into account the written habilitation thesis, the achievements specified in the target agreement, the colloquium, and the external reviews.

The evaluation of your postdoctoral qualifications

  • 2 reviews: Two external individuals who are not affiliated with LMU will be asked to review your habilitation achievements (i.e., your habilitation thesis as well as your teaching activities) within two months. The reviewers will be selected by your academic mentor.
  • Final vote: the members of your expert advisory board are asked to comment on your habilitation achievements in a joint vote, taking into account the external reviews, your habilitation achievements, and the results of your colloquium.
  • The academic mentor submits the final vote (DOCX, 181 KB) to the dean's office.

  • The subject mentor may request that deficiencies be remedied once (within a maximum period of one year) before teaching qualifications can be determined. After this period has expired, the subject mentor determines whether the deficiencies have been remedied.

  • Within four months of receiving the final vote, the extended faculty council votes on the determination of teaching qualifications. If no decision is reached within this period, the teaching qualification is also deemed to have been determined.
